Our monkeypod tree (Samanea saman) is said to be one of the largest in the islands. This tree is on the Exceptional Trees list and protected by the City and County of Honolulu. The wooden swing that rests on one of its major branches has become a symbol of the hospitality and fun for thousands of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides.
