The grand lanai once wrapped around three quarters of the house. This is typical of the Hawaiian Grand Vernacular style of architecture. The green porch floor and white gingerbread stairway and banisters are the original paint color. The front porte cachere (entrance) is an original part of the home. The second portecochere on the Diamond Head-side was added sometine around 1910.
