GSH Office Volunteers

Keep busy without stress.  Spend productive time with friendly, diversified staff at an organization with a great mission.  Duties include:

• Answering telephones;
• Greeting guests, parents, and girl scouts;
• Assisting membership department in the preparation for events and meetings;
• Assisting fund development department with ongoing daily functions and annual major fundraising event;
• Running light errands within the Honolulu area, using the organization’s vehicle;
• Performing basic clerical & office tasks.

Requirements/Expectations: Light to moderate work on the computer will be necessary.
Time Required: Flexible, minimum of 8 hours per week
Schedule/Dates: Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Location: GSH's new headquarters at the Ala Moana Hotel

 

Retail Shop Assistant

Keep busy without stress.  Spend productive time with friendly, diversified staff at an organization with a great mission.  Duties include:

- Greet customers & provide outstanding service and assistance;
- Assist in floor moves and display maintenance;
- Assist in replenishing merchandise;
- Answering telephones.

Requirements/Expectations: Must enjoy interacting with customers.
Time Required: Flexible, minimum of 8 hours per week
Schedule/Dates: Shop hours are Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Location: GSH's new retail shop in the lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel

Woman of Distinction Silent Auction Volunteer
Assist with the set-up of the Woman of Distinction silent auction.
Requirements/Expectations: Must be able to lift and carry 30lb.  Lunch and parking validation will be provided.
Time Required: one-time, 8 hours
Schedule/Dates: Wednesday, November 16, 2011, 9:30am-5:30pm.

Location: Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom lounge

Woman of Distinction Event Photographer
Photograph the Woman of Distinction Dinner, including posed and candid photos of VIP’s and Girl Scouts
Requirements/Expectations: Experienced event photographer.  Please submit portfolio or work samples.  Parking validation will be provided.
Time Required: One-time, 4 hours
Schedule/Dates: Wednesday, November 16, 2011, 5pm-9pm.

Program

Series Facilitator

Do you have skills or expertise you want to share with girls?  There are now many different ways of participating in Girl Scouting.  One of them is through a themed series that takes place once or twice per week over the course of 4 - 8 weeks.  GSH seeks women who would like the opportunity to share their experience with a group of girls.  We are particularly seeking expertise in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and the arts but are open to other subject matter as well.

Requirements/Expectations: Enjoy working with young people. Training on how to work with various age groups and the Girl Scout leadership model provided.
Time Required: Flexible, minimum of four (4), 1.5-hour sessions
Schedule/Dates: Flexible, 4 to 8 sessions
