Building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place

All Levels: Celebrate and Advocate at the Capitol

PDFPrintE-mail

You’re invited to honor 100 years of Girl Scouting in the US at our biggest birthday bash ever! Celebrate with Girl Scouts past, present, friends, and family at the State Capitol as we join forces with the Good Beginnings Alliance, Be My Voice Hawai'i, and the Hawaii Business Roundtable to take action and educate the public on the importance of early childhood learning here in the state of Hawai’i. But that’s not all! There is a whole lot more on the itinerary for this once in a lifetime occasion!

The day will include a joint press conference featuring Girl Scouts of Hawai’i and Good Beginnings Alliance to commemorate our anniversary, then guests will join elected officials of the House and Senate to recognize Girl Scouts in a very special ceremony! Girls in attendance will rally together to show off their advocating expertise by spreading aloha and awareness with tasty cookies, including the coveted Savannah Smiles, before working together one final time to create the greatest Girl Scout spectacle Honolulu has ever seen...a flashmob choreographed by national Girl Scout Song Leader, Melinda Carroll (Learn the dance here)! Of course no birthday celebration would be complete without cake! We’ll sing happy birthday to the 100 year old organization and enjoy a special treat as we all make a centennial birthday wish and look forward to another century of fostering female leaders!
