        (MOD 2) Girl Scout Basics:  This training is provided through you Membership Manager,

        Pathways Coordinator, or Service Unit Manager following your Orientation (MOD 1).

Orientation:  Schedule a meeting with your Service Unit Manager, Membership Development Manager, or Pathways Development Coordinator to receive your Orientation for Girl Scout Volunteers.  This orientation is required before a leader can work with girls.  It focuses on Girl Scout Council of Hawaii expectations of leaders and other volunteers.  Prerequisite:   Orientation for Girl Scout Volunteers.  NOTE: Completion of both the Orientation for Girl Scout Volunteers and GS Basics is required  before a leader can work with girls. 

GS Basics:  After receiving your Orientation for Girl Scout Volunteers, you will be given a Home-Study training titled Girl Scout Basics.  This training will focus on the Girl Scout Movement (mission, history, and values) and the Girl Scout Program (girl/adult partnerships, safety, and goals).   When you have completed the GS Basics Home-Study, complete the exam and evaluation and return it to the address on the form.  An exam with a passing score of 85% or better and the completion of an evaluation form must be received and reviewed by the Council to receive credit for this training. Completion of this Home-Study training is required before a leader can work with girls.  Prerequisite:   Contact the Girl Scout Council of Hawaii to speak to the staff person assigned to the area in which you will be volunteering, complete a Volunteer Application, and Volunteer Agreement form.
