When you give to Girl Scouts of Hawai’i, 100% of your gift stays in Hawai'i to help support local programs.  Your gift helps Girl Scouts of Hawai'i fulfill its commitment to offer the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to all girls in our state that want the opportunity.

Girl Scouts of Hawai'i sponsors community outreach programs such as Ho'omaka Hou (a new beginning), which brings Girl Scouting to girls whose mothers are incarcerated, and "Commit to a Girl," which makes it possible for girls from low-income communities to participate in Girl Scouting at their own schools, providing a safe, meaningful activity during after school hours.

Your gift makes a difference in the life of a girl!

"The skills I developed while working on my Girl Scout Gold Award project will help me in my future learning to be patient, being flexible, meeting deadlines, problem solving, perseverance and determination." - Janelle, age 16

"I like Girl Scouts because it's fun and I feel safe."
- Mary, who lives in a public housig complex, participates in the "Commit to a Girl" After School Hours Program that brings Girl Scouts to elementary schools in low-income communities

"In joining the program, she now feels that she is able to act her age and join in on other activities that her peers are taking part in. It gives her the opportunity to feel more free and it doesn't force her to grow up so quickly."
- Program Director of Ho'omoku Hou, which brings Girl Scouting to girls whose mothers are incarcerated, on a participant that has to help take care of her 7 younger siblings at home due to her mother's incarceration

Here are some examples of what your financial support can do!

Leadership Opportunities

Girl Scouts is the premier program designed to enable girls to develop the qualities of a great leader — courage, confidence, and character — and the skills to make the world a better place.  We want to help girls become leaders in their own lives, their families, their communities and their world. Girl Scouts of Hawai'i is committed to providing this opportunity to all girls in our state and we have support initiatives to help reach girls who may not otherwise have this opportunity including Ho'omaka Hou for girls whose mothers are incarcerated and the Commit to a Girl After School Hours Program for girls in low-income communities, attending high-need public schools.

$25 helps provide leadership training and safety courses for Girl Scout volunteers
$50 provides a charter vehicle to take a Ho'omaka Hou troop on an excursion and helps send Girl Scout volunteer trainers into the communities we serve
$200 allows a girl to participate in the Commit to a Girl After School Hours Program for one year
$500 helps send a girl to a national or international Girl Scout Destination such as the Girl Scouts’ Global Warming conference in New York

Camps

The purpose of camping is to utilize the Girl Scout Program, trained leadership, and the resources of the natural surroundings to contribute to each camper’s mental, physical, social, and spiritual growth. Girls have new adventures - exciting and varied activities to test the limits of their skills and feel a sense of accomplishment. Camping enhances trust among girls as they build friendships. It also increases their environmental awareness and understanding of how our activities can alter the environment.

$25 helps provide necessary safety equipment at our camps
$50 helps provide opportunities for girls to attend weekend camps
$75 helps our camps “Go Green” (for example, purchasing solar lights for our camps’ units and facilities)
$200 helps replace old furniture and fixtures
$500 helps train Girl Scout volunteers statewide in outdoor education and programs
