Woman of Distinction Dinner

Every year Girl Scout councils across the nation pay tribute to women who personally and professionally exemplify the values Girl Scouts embodies - women of courage, confidence and character who have made the world a better place. We recognize these women with the honor of “Woman of Distinction.”

In Hawai'i, we celebrate the occasion by inviting community supporters to our “Woman of Distinction Dinner,” held annually in the fall.   We use the occasion to not only thank these women for being outstanding role models for girls but also to raise funds that are used to deliver the Girl Scout Program to girls statewide; elevate public awareness and support for the Girl Scout Program; and help our Girl Scouts and their families better understand how Girl Scouting is made possible through the generous support of others.

Girl Scouts of Hawai`i's `Ohana Circle
Family Giving Campaign

The `Ohana Circle is an annual family giving campaign in which we ask families of our Girl Scouts to make a contribution to the Girl Scouts of Hawai`i.  Families who are able to give, not only help to provide greater opportunites for their daughters, but also make it possible for other girls to benefit from the common experience of being Girl Scouts.

By families working together to support the efforts of all girls, we truly are able to help girls understand how to "make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout." [Girl Scout Law]

A donation to the `Ohana Circle can either be made when submitting a Girl Scout membership registration form by completing the "I would like to contribute" section or by printing the donation form and sending a donation directly to the Girl Scouts of Hawai'i.
