Training Delivery Options & Registration Procedures

The Council currently offers trainings in two (2) formats.  Below are the required trainings and their formats.

"Home-Study" Trainings (on-line or hard copy ) for:

  • Girl Scout Basics
  • Age-Level (Program-Level)
  • Group Travel

"Face to Face" Trainings for:

  • Orientation for Girl Scout Volunteers 
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Camping Hawaiian Style (In-town and At-camp portions) 

Descriptions of Delivery Options

  • Home-Study:  Home-Study trainings are designed to be done as an "independent study".  You do not need to pr-register for this training.  However, at the completion of the Home-Study you must complete an examination with a passing score of 85% or better and an evaluation form.  Both of these forms must be received and reviewed by the Council to receive credit for any Home-Study training.  After successful completion, a certificate of completion will be sent to you for your records.
  • Face to Face:   Each "face to face" training is conducted by a Council volunteer trainer or Council staff person at the Council's O'ahu office location. 

        

Training Registration Procedures

Home-Study:  If you decide to take a Home-Study training, you can access your written training materials in PDF format on the Council's website or via email or printed copy by contacting your island Service Center.  DVDs needed to accompany the Group Travel Home-Study can only be accessed by contacting your island Service Center.

Face to Face:  To pre-register, call or email the Girl Scouts of Hawai'i Headquarters at 595-8400 x 518 or 1-800-691-4333 x 518, or email [email protected].  Leave the information listed below.  After receiving your registration, you will be sent an email confirmation or a phone call. If a training session is canceled due to lack of sign-ups, you will receive an emailed or call. 

The following information should be left when you call:

  • Your name.
  • Your email address (training confirmation will be sent by email).
  • If you don’t have email, please leave address.
  • Your phone number (where you can be reached during business hours).            
  • Group number, level, and service unit.
  • Name and date of training session(s) you wish to attend
