This year we will honor three remarkable women who understand the power of Global Thinking at our Woman of Distinction dinner: Karen Chang, M.R.C. Greenwood, and Sharon Weiner.  Each individual has sustained an impressive, internationally charged career in her respective field, however there is still a down-to-earth quality that all of the 2011 honorees possess.  All three look back at their modest beginnings, saying it is their early life experiences that shaped the women they are today.

Chang, Greenwood, and Weiner are the kind of leaders girls in the 21st century aspire to become.  Read the November 9 Midweek Cover story "From Modest Beginnings to Women of Distinction," featuring our 2011 Women of Distinction who will be honored in a November 16 ceremony at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
